Surfaces is a conceptual table series that focuses on a unique relationship between the supporting structure and the table's surface. Using the force of gravity and the surface material's tensile strength, notches in the surface accept the support structure and secure the surface from lateral movement. This allows a minimal frame to be used with little to no fastening hardware required to attach the surface.

 

The translucent surface celebrates the support structure below, imbuing the piece with a level of visual lightness, and playing with the notion of the structure 'surfacing' above the table top.
