LED TABLE LAMP

L01a/t [ambient/task] emerged from an assigned design brief entitled 'dynamic illumination' which assigned the design of a lamp that required some type of physical interaction to adjust its function.

Instead of designing a physically dynamic lamp that would change shape or form, I opted for a visually minimal approach. The 'dynamic' element of the lamp is housed within the base of the lamp in the form of an internal switching mechanism that changes the lamp's light source dependent on its orientation.

The mechanism activates the LED task light strip when stood upright and the ambient light when flat.
