MODULAR SCULPTURE

 

Machined Organics is a modular wooden sculpture that consists of 90 L-shaped members made of Canadian Maple.

 

This piece plays with the juxtaposition between machine-culture and organic form in that the modules originate from an organic form but were designed, accurately produced, and made possible through machining. It suggests a return of this Canadian Maple to its organic form after being milled, sliced, drilled, and sanded through machine processes.
